A FEW WORDS BY THE CURATOR

This is the first volume of a new series of books devoted exclusively to the art of photography. Our purpose with International Masters of Photography is similar to that of our other series: to create an annual chronicle of what is happening in the art of photography all over the world, by featuring the work of noteworthy photographers, representing as many genres as possible. It might have been easier to confine ourselves only to established photographers, but to do so would have been to miss much of the vital pulse of an art that is expanding and literally recreating itself before our eyes. Much of what is really new and exciting is coming from young, unknown photographers, members of a globalized and well connected world-wide community. Very much enabled by the internet and the rapid development of communication technologies, people from every corner of the global village, are not only gaining more access to information and new processes, but we all are enabled to share our discoveries and in a primarily visual manner. We, at WWAB, see this as a very exciting and positive development, and hope that our books provide one more tool to enhance this contemporary phenomenon. It has been our approach from our beginning as a publishing house to be as broad and inclusive as possible in our selection - while maintaining rigorous standards of quality. We believe that the element of magic in any anthology of art is its broadness and variety, and here we want it to include the whole world. And the world of photography is huge. In years to come, as we add volume after volume, we think that our depiction of it will become an ever more faithful cross-section of this beautiful and dynamic art.

HOW YOU CAN BE INCLUDED

Please note that there is a participation fee for inclusion in International Masters of Photography.

We invite photographers to participate in  "International Master Photographers", a new sister publication of the famous "International Contemporary Masters".

"International Master of Photography" will have an emphasis on noteworthy art photography. While clearly most commission work involves more "mundane" subjects such as weddings or product presentation, a photographer's true potential usually comes out when they follow their passions freely, whatever those might be.

This publication will be an invaluable tool for every photographer who wants to gain new clients and commissions, to get the best value for his or her work, and to establish relationships with art galleries, and to be accepted in juried events.

In this superbly printed annual photography book, a new sister publication of the famous "International Contemporary Masters", we present photographers of high caliber from all over the world whose work we consider worthy of presentation in a serious art photography publication.
